The refusal of the HSE to release key Day Care Services support staff back to the service has resulted in support services disappearing and huge damage to people who rely on these services -meanwhile 5 Minisers with the word Disabilities in the titles sit on their collective ands .
” We’ll he looks normal why can’t he wear one ” the lady heading into work on the bus blurted out ,…. the man with the hard hat added ” best to leave him at home ” and so begins another day travelling in Ireland on public transport for people with disabilities .
A Dail Committee was informed that persons with disabilities and their cares received little of no support from the service providers during the 5 months of the COVID 19 Pandemic with 4 Ministers responsible for Disabilities one wonders what are these Ministers and the Government doing >
With savings created by the failure of the State to provide Dy Care Services to people with ASD for over 150 days we now discover that the savings made by the failure to provide these services is t be used to plug a whole in the overall HSE budget as a result of Covid 19 .
It’s an exhausting and endless fight just to get basic services for your vulnerable dependent in the first instance then to be abandoned bu the State during a Pandemic was the last straw for many of the 18,000 people with ASD .
